Add A Lil' Razzle Dazzle

Wanna add a lil razzle-dazzle to your wardrobe? Sequins is where it is at, honey!

This week I switched things up a bit and took a pair of taupe joggers and paired it with a black sequins blazer and white knee-high boots. This combo may seem unorthodox in theory but conceptually it came together beautifully. When styling, always remember that you wear the clothes, the clothes don't wear you.

With that, one of my favorite fabrics to wear is sequins. In last week’s blog, I featured a pair of sequins pants and this week’s look is still on theme. One thing I can say about sequins fabric is that it adds dimension and personality to any garment. Moreover, the fabric is traditionally worn to celebrate special occasions but like I’ve mentioned before when it comes to fashion; rules are meant to be broken.  The muse holds the agency to make and abide by their own set of rules.

What I love most about this blazer is the contour at the waist. Sometimes blazers can be boxy but this shiny platelet jacket buttons on the right side + contours your waist to compliment your structure. Lastly, because layering is my secret weapon I also added a black puffer jacket to soften the glamorous blazer.

Now onto the taupe joggers. I recently mentioned that joggers are the new jeans; which have been heavily influenced by the times as comfort is at the core of our day-to-day wear. We are spending more time chilling + doing leisure activities. I color-blocked the brown joggers with the black embellished blazer to expand the color palette + add a soft balance of color. If you are looking to expand your wardrobe, consider replacing joggers with jeans + pairing them with another garment from the formality scale like a blazer, trench coat, shacket, or even a cardigan.

I then finished off this week’s Razzle Dazzle look by incorporating white square toe knee-high boots to compliment the brown pants. I love the removable chain detail on these boots. The silver chain accents the silver detail around the mouth of the boot.

This week’s style tip is:  We all could use a bit of glitz and glamour to outweigh our mundane corona restrictive days. Don’t shy away from adding lil sequins in your life.
